Dr. Leonard Tyko is a highly skilled and dedicated oral and maxillofacial surgeon, passionate about oral health and enhancing the quality of life for his patients. Board-certified and extensively trained, he is licensed both as a physician and a dentist, as well as being a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Education and Training

Dr. Tyko earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Riverside, followed by his Doctor of Dental Surgery from UCLA. He then pursued his medical degree at the University of Texas, Houston, where he also completed a general surgery internship and an oral and maxillofacial surgery residency. In 2000, he returned to his home state of California to join our practice.

Professional Roles

Dr. Tyko served as the Chief of Dentistry and was an integral member of the facial trauma team at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital. He has also held the position of President of the California Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, contributing to the advancement of oral health legislation in the state.

Dr. Tyko is deeply committed to community service, such as volunteering with California CareForce to provide free dental care to underserved populations through mobile health clinics across California. He actively shares his expertise through lectures at local colleges and hosts continuing education courses for medical and dental professionals.

Personal Interests

Outside of his professional commitments, Dr. Tyko enjoys spending time with his four children, coaching Little League, and exploring the great outdoors. His adventurous spirit has led him to hike the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu and successfully summit iconic peaks including Mount Shasta, Mount Kilimanjaro, and Mont Blanc.
